Machined Components for Conveying & Material Handling

Conveyor systems and bulk-handling equipment live on rotating components: idler rollers, pulley shafts, coupling parts — consumed by abrasion and wanted before the belt stops. We machine them in wear steels and stainless from 100 pieces for equipment makers and port or mine maintenance teams, quoted in 48 hours. Planned replacement interleaved with emergencies is the buying pattern, and both routes run on the same certified process.

Where conveying systems lose uptime

A conveying line is a series of rotating parts over a kilometre of dust, and uptime is decided by the components nobody sees until they seize. Idler rollers, pulley shafts and coupling parts wear on the calendar, not on notice, so the buying pattern is planned replacement interleaved with sudden single-part emergencies where only the lead time matters. Port operators and bulk handlers keep inspection lists kilometres long, and each failed roller or seized pulley is a stoppage on a line whose throughput is worth far more per hour than any component on it.

We machine idler rollers, pulley shafts and coupling parts in wear steels, 42CrMo4 and stainless, with grinding holding fits to ±0.005 mm and surface treatments through audited partners. Planned replacements ship DDP in 5 to 8 days by air for urgent stops, emergency singles ship first, and repeat orders run against your part number with the same dimensional report every time. Stainless variants share the same lines and documentation format, so wash-down and standard spares come from one supplier with one file structure across the whole conveyor system.

Workflow: drawing, sample approval and recurring series

The standard flow: drawing review and quotation within 48 hours, first samples in 7–15 days, first article inspection and approval, then series production against the approved reference. Tooling, program revisions and inspection records are kept on file so that call-offs remain consistent with the approved first article.

Engineering changes — material substitutions, tolerance updates, plating or packaging changes — are handled as controlled changes against the same records.

Quality and documentation

DIN ISO 2768-mK applies as the default tolerance scheme for unspecified dimensions. EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates are standard for metallic parts, First Article Inspection supports the approval step, and RoHS/REACH declarations are available where required. Plating, cleanliness and packaging requirements are confirmed per drawing.

FAQ

Can you supply one emergency roller shaft?
Yes. Single-piece emergency machining is a standard route: quote within 48 hours from the sample or drawing, machining in 7 to 15 days, and air DDP delivery in 5 to 8 days. We split-ship when only one dimension is holding up the rebuild, so the line restarts on the critical part while the balance follows.

Do you make stainless variants for wash-down areas?
Yes. 304 and 316 variants for wash-down and food-adjacent areas run on the same lines with dedicated tooling to avoid carbon-steel contamination. Surface finish, traceability and the dimensional report repeat identically on every batch, so your wash-down and standard spares share one supplier and one file format. The 316 variant is the default for wash-down duty, quoted at the same lead times as the standard version.

How do we start with a full conveyor audit?
Send your idler, pulley and coupling list with quantities and the next shutdown date. We quote the list as a package with tiered pricing, deliver the critical items first by air, and schedule the balance by sea — converting the audit into buffer stock on the components your own history says fail first. Package quotes typically list 5 to 15 line items per conveyor audit, each with its own tiered price.

What are the payment and delivery terms?
New relationships start with 30 percent on order and 70 percent before shipment, or an irrevocable letter of credit for framework values. Planned replacements deliver DDP in 5 to 8 days by air including customs, 35 to 45 days by sea, and buffer stock on running items is available after the first approved batches.
