Also known as SAE 660 bronze, this alloy contains approximately 83% copper, 7% tin, and 7% lead, along with small amounts of zinc and nickel. The high lead content provides excellent self-lubricating properties, making C93200 bronze ideal for applications where continuous lubrication is difficult or impossible. This material conforms to ASTM B505 and ASTM B27 standards for continuous cast bronze bearing alloys.

C93200 bearing bronze contains 7% lead which provides excellent self-lubricating properties. The lead acts as a solid lubricant, allowing the bearing to operate effectively even without continuous external lubrication. Its embeddability allows debris to be embedded into the soft bronze matrix, preventing shaft damage.

C93200 (SAE 660) is the most widely used general-purpose bearing bronze with balanced properties. It offers good load capacity, excellent self-lubrication, and conformability. Compared to C95400 aluminum bronze, C93200 has better self-lubricating properties but lower strength. Compared to C51000 phosphor bronze, C93200 has better embeddability but lower fatigue resistance.
While C93200 bronze has excellent self-lubricating properties due to its lead content, external lubrication is still recommended for optimal performance and extended bearing life. The self-lubricating property provides protection during startup and in applications where lubrication may be intermittent.
